Trading Block: Luol Deng

Luol Deng is on the trading block. This can’t be a surprise. Not only are the Lakers getting rid of anyone and everyone not on a rookie or single-year contract in preparation for Paul George and LeBron James‘ upcoming free agency, but Deng is an aging veteran with just one thirteen-minute appearance this season on one of the worst contracts in the league (4 years, 72 million dollars when signed in 2016.)

Still, Deng is 6’9″, and thrived as a stretch four for the Miami Heat in 2016. Los Angeles tried playing him at the three last season, but with as much wear and tear as Deng has taken so far, Deng is best used as a four nowadays. Here are the best trades for Deng:

Brooklyn: Luol Deng, 2021 2nd Round Pick for Trevor Booker, Quincy Acy, Sean Kilpatrick, Joe Harris

Chicago: Luol Deng, Ivica Zubac, 2020 2nd Round Pick for Robin Lopez, Quincy Pondexter

Dallas: Luol Deng, 2021 2nd Round Pick for Dwight Powell, Devin Harris, Josh McRoberts

Minnesota: Luol Deng for Cole Aldrich, Nemanja Bjelica, Marcus Georges-Hunt

Portland: Luol Deng for Meyers Leonard, Ed Davis

Utah: Luol Deng, 2018 2nd Round Pick for Alec Burks, Joe Johnson
